Delete your account and data
Last updated: 13 August 2026 · Sinceby for Android (package com.sinceby.app) and the Sinceby web app · Developer: Lukas Merz
In the app: Settings → Delete account. It happens while you wait, it cancels your subscription first, and it needs nothing from us. Android and the web both have it — they share one account.
Rather ask? Email lukas@mrz.email with the subject “Delete my Sinceby account”, from the address you signed in with. That route needs no app installed at all, and deletion is completed within 30 days.
This page covers the Sinceby Android app com.sinceby.app and
the Sinceby web app on sinceby.app. They share one account.
Deleting your account cancels your subscription first
Sinceby Pro is billed by Google Play on Android and by our payment provider on the web. Deleting your account turns off auto-renew on whichever one is yours, before anything is deleted. You do not have to cancel first and you do not have to write to us.
Cancelling is not a refund, and it does not end Pro early. Everything you have already paid for stays yours until that period runs out. Nothing is refunded — a refund is a separate request, to Google Play for a purchase made on Android, or to us for one made on the web.
If the cancellation cannot go through, nothing is deleted at all, and the app says so. An account that disappears while the charge keeps arriving is the one outcome worth refusing, so deletion stops rather than risk it. Try again, or write to us and we will sort it out.
Two cases where there is nothing to cancel, and the app says so plainly: a lifetime purchase, which never renews; and being a member of somebody else’s household, where the subscription belongs to whoever set it up and is left completely untouched.
Export your data first, if you want to keep it
Backup and export are free at every tier, signed in or out, and take a few seconds. Deletion is permanent — once it is done we cannot recover or re-send anything.
- Android: Settings → Your data → Back up data (a full JSON file you keep) and Export history as CSV (one row per completion).
- Web: Settings → Back up data and Export history as CSV.
How to delete your account
In the app, on either platform: Settings → Delete account. The screen shows what will go and what will stay, offers the backup and the CSV export first, and asks once more before it does anything.
- Open Settings — in the Android app, or on sinceby.app.
- Tap Delete account, and read what it says. Take the backup if you want one.
- Tap Delete my account, and confirm.
If you signed in a while ago, Sinceby asks you to sign in again first. Deleting an account is the one thing it asks you to prove is really you, so a borrowed unlocked phone cannot do it.
Or by email, if you would rather
Deletion by email still works, is confirmed against the address the account belongs to, and needs no app installed.
- Email lukas@mrz.email, subject “Delete my Sinceby account”.
- Send it from the email address or Google account you sign in with. If you have to write from a different address, say which address the account uses; we will confirm by sending a sign-in link to it before deleting anything.
- Tell us if you also want your own completions removed from a household other people still use — see what stays below. If you say nothing, they stay.
Two other things in the app which are not account deletion: Settings → Household → Leave this household removes your membership from the shared list, and Sign out ends the session on that device. Neither deletes the account, neither cancels anything, and neither touches the chores stored on your phone.
What is deleted
Everything below goes, permanently:
- Your sign-in identity. The Firebase Authentication user: the internal user id, the email address you signed in with or the Google account address and display name it supplied, and the sign-in timestamps.
- Your household membership —
households/{household}/members/{your id}, which holds your display name and the date you joined. - Your private documents — everything under
users/{your id}/private/: the pointer to the household you belong to, and the subscription-status mirror if one exists for you. - Invite links you created are revoked, so nobody can join a household with an old link of yours. (They expire 14 days after they are made in any case.)
- The whole household, if your deletion leaves nobody in it — the household document and every chore and every completion in it, because there is no longer anyone whose record it is.
- Your subscription’s auto-renewal, turned off on Google Play or with the web payment provider before anything else happens — and your customer record with our subscription provider.
What is not ours to delete
- The copy on your own phone. Sinceby keeps a full local database on the device, which is what makes it work offline. Account deletion does not reach it. Uninstall Sinceby, or clear its storage in Android’s app settings, to remove that copy.
- Your Google account and your Google Play purchase history belong to you and to Google, not to us.
What stays, and why
This is the part worth reading twice. If other people are still in your household, the shared chore history stays. The list of chores and the log of when each one was done is also their record of their own home; deleting it because one member left would be deleting other people’s data.
So after your account is deleted, completions you logged remain in that household. They keep the internal id that logged them, which no longer resolves to any name, address or account — the app shows them as done by a member who is no longer there.
If you would rather that record went too, say so in your email and we will delete your completions from that household as part of the same request. Any remaining member can also delete or re-attribute them from inside the app at any time.
If your deletion leaves the household with no members at all, nothing is left to preserve, and the household, its chores and its completions are deleted along with your account.
If you set the household up, it passes to whoever has been in it longest. Inviting people, removing them and deleting the household are things only the person who set it up can do, so leaving that attached to a deleted account would strand everybody still living there with a household nobody could ever manage. Billing does not move with it: nobody is subscribed to anything by this.
Leaving a household on your own is not the same thing. Using “Leave this household” in the app removes your membership and nothing else. If you were the last one there, the household’s records stay where they are — unreadable to anyone, since only members may read them and there are none — until someone asks us to delete them. Ask, and we will.
Purchase records
Records of payments — what was bought, when, and for how much — are held by Google and by RevenueCat, our subscription provider, and are kept for as long as their own retention and statutory bookkeeping obligations require, even after the account they belonged to is gone. That is outside our control. Nothing in them is used to re-identify you inside Sinceby, and the account itself is still deleted on schedule.
Your subscription record with RevenueCat — the entitlement keyed to your Sinceby account — is deleted as part of the deletion, after the cancellation has gone through and before your own data goes.
Provider backups and logs
Sinceby’s accounts and shared data run on Google’s Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore. Ordinary operational backups and logs on Google’s side may still contain traces for a short period after a deletion, until they age out under Google’s own retention. Those copies are not accessible to the app and are not used for anything.
How long it takes
- In the app: immediately. The cancellation and the deletion both happen while you wait, and the app tells you what it did.
- By email: we reply within 7 days to confirm the request, and to ask for confirmation if it did not come from the account’s own address.
- Deletion is then completed within 30 days, and normally much sooner.
- Either way, once it is done there is nothing left to restore.
If you never signed in
An account is optional. Sinceby works fully signed out — chores, reminders, widgets, backup, CSV export and import all work without one, and signing in buys household sharing and nothing else. If you never signed in, no account and no server-side data exist, and there is nothing for us to delete: everything is in the app’s local database on your device. Uninstalling the app, or clearing its storage, removes it.

Konto und Daten löschen
Stand: 13.
So löschst du dein Konto
- Schreib an lukas@mrz.email, Betreff „Sinceby-Konto löschen“.
Was gelöscht wird
Was nicht in unserer Hand liegt
Was bleibt — und warum
